Jim Hardy (Bing Crosby) leaves show business and the big city to become a gentleman farmer in the country. He sings the song, "Being Lazy" as the film shows how hard he has to work. After a year he decides that rural life is too demanding, and turns his farm into "Holiday Inn" that is only open on holidays. Jim and his long time friend, Ted Hanover (Fred Astaire), compete for the affection of singer / dancer Linda Mason (Marjorie Reynolds) in a good-humored love triangle.
The classic song "White Christmas" was sung for the first time in this film. Lots of singing and dancing in this film! Highly recommended.
