This is a movie about a young missionary named John Groberg (Christopher Gorham) who goes to Toga during the 1950's. He leaves behind a girl friend named Jean (Anne Hathaway) and back home she awaits his return. He has an interesting time bringing the gospel to the people of this island. He finds the people of Tonga to be very ritualistic yet many come to believe the good news that he brings to their island. In the end he finds that the people of Tonga are just like any other loving and kind and he becomes a part of that family of people on that island.
