Larry Burrows (Jim Belushi) has always wanted to be rich, and to have more in life than what he got. He is always wishing he hadn't missed a pitch in a high school baseball game, thinking that would make the difference. When Mike (Michael Caine), a guardian-angel type, grants him his wish he finds that things are definitely different. Now Larry is married to the boss' daughter Cindy Jo (Rene Russo), he is rich and powerful, and quickly discovers that it isn't all he thought it was. He is no longer friends with his best friend Clip Metzler (Jon Lovitz), and he misses his wife Ellen (Linda Hamilton). Will Mr. Destiny get the life he wanted, or the life he really wants is the question of this comedy tale.
