Loretta Castorini (Cher) is a young widow with no children. Assuming her first marriage was cursed because of how she was married, in city hall, she decides to go about getting married in the right way. She accepts the marriage proposal of Johnny Cammareri (Danny Aiello), a very predictable, stable, and older man. Even though she admits she isn’t in love with Johnny, she sees this marriage as a way to start over new. While preparing for the wedding, Loretta meets Johnny’s estranged brother Ronny (Nicholas Cage). Sparks fly between the two and Loretta finds all that’s lacking in her relationship with Johnny is present with Ronny. Torn between the two brothers, she must decide quickly which man she wishes to be with, as her wedding day approaches.
