A sequel to "Love Comes Softly", this adaptation continues the story of the love found between Clark (Dale Midkiff) and Marty Davis (Ketherine Heigl). Their oldest daughter, Missy (January Jones), is the local school teacher, and she is full of passion for knowledge and learning. On a ride, she stumbles upon a camp of tents and fancy equipment. She meets Grant Thomas (Mackenzie Astin), who is mapping the landscape for the railroad. He is rich, educated and proper. In short, he is everything that Missy has always dreamed of having. He invites her to have lunch with him in the town's only nice restaurant, and she agrees, but when the day arrives, she doesn't come. It turns out that her father, Clark, had an accident and sliced his leg with an ax leaving him close to death. A young wanderer, Wille LaHaye (Logan Bartholomew) finds an injured Clark and his young son and helps him back to the cabin. He leaves, but soon returns when he sees Missy and Marty trying to plow the fields and plant the crops that sustain them. He takes over, helps Clark heal and wins Missy's approval. In the end, Missy is forced to decide between the possibilities of Grant and the love of Willie. She chooses love.
