The Last Starfighter is the story of a young man, Alex Rogan (Lance Guest) who longs to escape the trailer park where he lives with this mother and his brother Louis (Chris Herbert). He hopes to make that escape by leaving for college with his girlfriend Maggie (Catherine Mary Stewart). However, when his application is rejected, he is sure that they will be stuck in the trailor park forever. He takes his frustrations out by blasting alien ships in the video game at the local store, little knowing that the game is more than it seems and may hold his ticket to adventure and a life far from the trailer park.
