Dr. Alex Hesse (Arnold Schwarzenegger) came from Europe to work with Dr. Larry Arbogast (Danny DeVito) on groundbreaking research into how to prevent miscarriage in early pregnancy. But when funding for the project is withdrawn, Hesse is resigned to go back to Europe. But it was his partner Arbogast that challenged him to stay, not for the science, but because he accused him of not caring. Hesse decides to continue the experiments on himself only to discover that he becomes pregnant. The pregnancy changes him. He not only begins to care about the research project, but he cares about his unborn child. When hormones rage through his body, he is determined to see his pregnancy through.
