A young, beautiful woman named Anna Kalman (Ingrid Bergman) is struggling greatly just to make it through the day as she is completely lonely and without someone to love her, something she deems a necessity. She often complains to her best friends about this problem and dates constantly, but cannot find the right man. Her wishes come true when she meets the dreamy Philip (Cary Grant) and the two rapidly fall in love. Later in their relationship, Anna discovers that she is not the only woman in Philip’s life; she is crushed feeling that she once again is deceived by a man and decides that Philip must pay for his infidelity.
