Secret Service Agent Doug Chesnic (Nicholas Cage) now has been assigned to guard former First Lady Tess Carlisle (Shirley MacLaine). The two butt heads immediately and constantly. She drives him crazy with her strong willed actions and simply ignores all of his methods of protecting her. She is close friends with the current President, so he knows not to get on her bad side too much or he will never get another detail. As time progresses Doug learns that there is a serious threat to her life. Even more to his surprise, he learns that they’ve developed a bond and he will do anything to protect her.
