Louie (Christopher McDonald) and Corinne Jeffries (Cybil Shepherd) are a happily married couple, until one day Louie is killed while crossing the street is a bizarre accident on their first wedding anniversary. Louie’s soul becomes reincarnated into the body of a young man named Alex Finch (Robert Downey Jr.) who becomes romantically involved with Louie and Corinne’s daughter Miranda (Mary Stuart Masterson). When Miranda takes Alex home to meet her family and friends, Alex begins to remember his life as Louie and is very disturbed by his innate attraction to his very own daughter. Louie inside of Alex’s body must now try to end the relationship and convince Corinne that he has been reincarnated so that they can resume their marriage.
