A tale of a cool, no-nonsense cop (Steve McQueen) in a hot sports car on the streets of San Francisco, chasing organized crime figures, murderers, hit men, and people who are not what they seem. Lieutenant Frank Bullitt and his team are assigned to protect the brother of a mob boss (Vince Tayback) before an important government meeting chaired by an ambitious politician (Robert Vaughn). When hit men shoot and severely wound guards and the mobster's relative, Bullitt has to fight city hall and just about everyone to keep a deadly secret from ruining everything.
