The story follows the infamous story of the mutiny on the Bounty told from both sides. Lieutenant William Bligh (Anthony Hopkins) is a heartless commander of his ship, the Bounty. He is mean and cruel to his crew and continues to put them in harm’s way. Fletcher Christian (Mel Gibson) is the Master’s Mate who decides to lead a rebellion against Bligh. Bligh and those loyal to him are set on a tiny row boat in the middle of the ocean. Christian knows that the men on board will be hung as traitors if they stay within the realm of the British Empire. Christian and Bligh must then each work to save the lives of their faithful crew.
