In this dark comedy, Mortimer Brewister (Clark Gable) goes home to visit his maiden aunts, Aunt Abby (Josephine Hull) and Aunt (Jean Adair), only to discover that they have a secret hobby of a rather deadly nature. Life gets even more complicated when Mortimer's long-lost criminal brother Jonathan (Raymond Massey) shows up with his personal plastic surgeon Doctoer Herman Einstein (Peter Lorre), looking for a place to hide out for the authorities, only to find out that his dear sweet aunts might just give him a run for his money in the death business.
