“The War Wagon” sees Taw Jackson (John Wayne) released prison after surviving being shot. Taw is old ‘friend’ Frank Pierce (Bruce Cabot) who stole a massive amount of gold from him before he was locked away in prison. Now Taw is making his way to Frank’s ranch for some closure. Along the way, Taw makes a deal with Lomax (Kirk Douglas), the man who shot him five years ago and together they plan a way up Frank and steal the gold from him. The gold is transported in a War Wagon, which is an armored coach and heavily guarded. It seems as if these two have their work cut out for them.
