"The Searchers" is a classic western which chronicles the journey of Ethan Edwards(John Wayne) as he tries to find the Comanches who have kidnapped his niece. Ethan, a Confederate veteran, visits his brother's home three years after war. Shortly thereafter, his brother's entire family except for his niece Debbie (Lana Wood and Natalie Wood) is killed during a Comanche raid. Debbie is taken prisoner by the Comanche chief Scar(Henry Brandon). Along with Martin Pawley (Jeffrey Hunter), a young man who was being fostered by his brother's family and is part Native American, Ethan spends years trying to find Debbie and bring her back home.
